The world’s only Game of Thrones Studio Tour opened in February 2022, delivering a world-class, immersive experience. The 110,000 square foot tour includes 25 themed areas with bespoke audio, video content, and interactive elements including a spectacular immersive Throne Room, developed by Hamilton Robson. The attraction significantly boosted Northern Irish tourism.
The Challenge

The world’s only Game of Thrones Studio Tour opened in February 2022. The customer required delivery of a world-class experience that invoked the excitement and drama of the iconic TV series.

Our Solution

We worked with the customer to develop their immersive 110,000 square foot experience that invites fans into the heart of the Seven Kingdoms. The pre-tour theatre begins with a huge, impactful and complex walled projection, complete with moving gates and visuals to manage the pre-tour queue. We designed a full network distributed audio system, delivering both the audio experience as well as being able to handle vital public address.

The experience includes 25 themed areas, embellished with bespoke video and audio content and interactives. We developed, designed and prototyped hardware built into props to enable visitor gamification and interactivity. This includes mirrors, bow and arrows and swords throughout the experience. The grand finale of the experience is the Iron Throne Room, with 12 4K projectors, videomapped and blended to provide a full wraparound environment and soundscape.

The Impact

The attraction opened to excellent numbers in 2022. It is the only tour of its kind in the world and will boost tourism on the island of Ireland for years to come. The immersive sound and projections, working alongside the themed interactives and authentic elements and location provide a unique experience for guests.
