ISE 2025: Smarter, More Efficient Audio-Visual Technology

Jamie Hunter

ISE 2025 was all about refinement. Taking existing Audio-Visual solutions and making them smarter, more efficient, and more accessible. Rather than focusing on flashy new concepts, this year’s event showcased technologies that genuinely improve workflows, increase reliability, and reduce costs without sacrificing quality.

This shift is exciting. The industry is moving towards delivering better results with less complexity, and that has real benefits for our customers. Whether it’s smarter control systems, improved live production tools, or more efficient network infrastructure, ISE 2025 set the stage for a more streamlined, scalable, and cost-effective AV future. Here are our key takeaways.

Seamless KVM Control with Adder ARDx

Remote access is more important than ever in AV workflows, and Adder’s ARDx technology takes KVM over IP to the next level. The ADDERLink Portal R110 delivers secure, low-latency keyboard, video, mouse, and audio connectivity over local networks. Designed for image-critical applications, this device ensures seamless remote PC control with high-quality video and audio—perfect for critical system support.

For Hamilton Robson, this means better support for customers working in distributed or high-security environments, with more reliable and scalable remote access solutions.

Magewell Director Mini: All-in-One Live Production

The Magewell Director Mini is an incredibly versatile device, packing multi-input switching, graphics, streaming, recording, and monitoring into a compact, easy-to-use unit. It supports HDMI, USB, and multiple live IP sources including SRT, RTMP, NDI, and RTSP making it ideal for simplifying complex productions without compromising quality.

Key features include:

  • Seamless switching between multiple sources
  • Multi-view output for better monitoring
  • Overlays and multiple options for mix effects and production
  • Advanced streaming options
  • Built-in support for NDI High Bandwidth and NDI HX3

After speaking with Magewell, it’s clear that even better connectivity and power options are on the horizon something we’ll be keeping an eye on.

Vizrt TriCaster Vizion & Flex Dual: A Game-Changer for Live Production

Our team has worked with a lot of TriCaster systems over the years, and the latest Vizion release is by far the most powerful. With 44 live inputs, configurable SDI I/O, 4 media players, and 8 MEs, it’s a serious tool for broadcasters, media publishers, and large-scale productions.

Paired with the Vizrt Flex Dual control panel, the experience is incredibly fluid. The NDI-native panel features:

  • 24 direct cross points and dual 10-key dynamic menus
  • A full-size joystick for precise cropping, positioning, and panning
  • Delegate and utility rows for custom workflow configurations

The ability to connect seamlessly to TriCaster hardware or Vectar in the cloud makes remote production more practical than ever. This is easily the best TriCaster system yet, and it will definitely be utilised it for future deployments.

Transparent LED Mesh & Folding LED Walls: Expanding Creative Possibilities

LED displays continue to evolve, but this year’s innovations are about practical applications. Transparent LED mesh and folding LED walls aren’t just gimmicks they allow high-quality displays to be integrated into spaces where traditional screens wouldn’t work. For us, this opens new creative possibilities for immersive environments without compromising aesthetics or functionality.

Brighter, Sharper, More Affordable – LED Quality Takes Another Step Forward

LED displays have taken another leap in brightness and resolution, but the real game-changer is the drop in cost. High-luminance, ultra-high-definition displays are now more accessible, making premium visuals achievable without breaking budgets. This is a game-changer for delivering high-quality AV experiences at a lower cost.

New HDCP Chips – Expanding USB 3.2 Over CAT 6A

Connectivity is evolving, and the introduction of new HDCP chips is making USB 3.2 over CAT 6A more accessible. This expands USB extension options, allowing high-speed data transmission over standard infrastructure. This means simpler, more efficient, and cost-effective installations reducing reliance on proprietary cabling or overly expensive devices.

Smarter All-in-One Video Conferencing Displays

A major trend this year is the refinement of all-in-one video conferencing displays. The latest models now feature:

  • Higher-quality LED panels for improved clarity
  • More intuitive touch interfaces for seamless digital whiteboarding
  • AI-enhanced cameras for a significantly better meeting experience

For businesses relying on hybrid collaboration, these upgrades mean easier-to-use, lower-maintenance conference rooms with a much-improved user experience.

AI Camera Tracking

AI-powered camera tracking is now the standard, delivering smoother, more reliable framing than ever. Compared to last year, tracking has significantly improved, reducing errors and enhancing automation. This is a massive upgrade for event production, corporate AV, and hybrid learning spaces eliminating the need for constant manual intervention.

Cloud AV Here to stay

Cloud-based AV is no longer emerging it’s here to stay. The shift towards cloud-managed AV solutions makes deployments more scalable, system management more efficient, and remote production much easier. With companies like Vizrt leading the way, cloud AV is quickly becoming the backbone of smarter, more flexible AV.

Samsung SmartThings Pro & Colour E-Paper: Smarter Displays for Business

Samsung’s SmartThings Pro and Colour E-Paper solutions were impressive, showcasing a clear shift towards more sustainable and environmentally conscious AV solutions. SmartThings Pro expands Samsung’s smart ecosystem into business environments, offering AI-powered automation, real-time device monitoring, and energy-saving features that can optimise enterprise AV setups while reducing power consumption.

The Colour E-Paper solution, with its ultra-low power consumption for static images, provides an eco-friendly alternative to traditional digital signage, ideal for retail, corporate, and hospitality environments. With the ability to update content remotely via Samsung’s VXT platform, it offers convenience alongside sustainability.

These advancements are particularly impressive because they align with our growing demand for greener, more efficient solutions something our clients are increasingly prioritising in today’s environmentally conscious landscape.

Our Great Q-Sys Escape: The Ultimate Team Challenge

One of the standout experiences at ISE wasn’t just the tech it was the QSC Escape Room “The Lab”. In a high-pressure, problem-solving environment, our team worked together to solve challenges using QSC’s Q-SYS platform. It was incredible to see how seamlessly we collaborated under pressure, and the experience reinforced the importance of having reliable, intuitive AV solutions in critical environments. And, of course, we smashed it escaping in top position!

Conclusion

ISE 2025 has made one thing clear: the AV industry is shifting from constant reinvention to intelligent optimisation. Smarter, more efficient, and more accessible technology means better investments and better experiences for our customers.
