Global AV leader Hamilton Robson is proud to announce its recent contribution to the New York Gaelic Athletic Association (NYGAA) and the New York Minor Board (NYMB) with the donation of a state-of-the-art digital scoreboard display at Redmond Park, the new home of Gaelic Games in New York.
This donation is more than just equipment—it’s a symbol of support for a vibrant and growing sporting community, young and older, with its epicentre in Redmond Park. It brings significant practical benefits to the NYMB’s programs by facilitating better game management during matches and events, while elevating the experience for visitors to the park.
The New York Minor Board, in conjunction with the NYGAA, supports over 7,000 active members across the tri-state area, encompassing youth Hurling, Football, Camogie, and senior programs too. These organizations have been a cornerstone of Irish culture in New York for decades. NYGAA has a history spanning over 100 years, while the NYMB, founded approximately 50 years ago, has seen incredible growth too – from a few hundred participants in the 1980s to nearly 3,000 youth players today, ranging in age from 5 to 20.
Hamilton Robson is honoured to play a role in the development of the NYMB’s new Centre of Excellence at Redmond Park. The company sees this partnership as an investment in the community and a celebration of cultural heritage and enhancing the relationship that has long existed between Ireland and the US.
Barry Murphy, MD of Hamilton Robson said “When one of our US colleagues Padraig approached me and explained that the New York Minor Board were creating a facility with the end goal of giving more pitch time to junior players. The answer was immediately, what can we do to help?
We decided that a state of the art LED scoreboard along with custom controls would be a perfect fit for our little contribution to this great cause. As an Irish company with a global footprint, it means a great deal to us to give back to a community in Yonkers honouring our heritage and building for future generations!”
The scoreboard, valued at approximately $95,000 plus installation, was officially unveiled during a lighting and activation ceremony on March 18th. Among those in attendance was Mr. Jarlath Burns, President of the GAA in Ireland, who remarked during his speech, “When you drink the water from the well, always remember the people who went before you who dug it.” Hamilton Robson is proud to be one of those who helped dig the well at Redmond.
With an overall fundraising goal of approximately $3.5 million, the scoreboard donation is a major boost to the local efforts made by businesses, charitable organizations, and GAA clubs. It’s part of a true community-driven project—turning these fields into what many now consider “Fields of Dreams.”
As part of the ongoing recognition of this partnership, Hamilton Robson’s name and logo will appear on advertising banners along the perimeter fence and will also be featured on a permanent sign integrated into the scoreboard structure.
Hamilton Robson extends its gratitude to the NYMB and NYGAA for the opportunity to support such
a meaningful project and is excited to continue building strong ties with the local GAA community.
